When you want to hamper the signals of a cell phone, you have to follow the method used to hamper the signals of a radio or any other communication media. The cell tower is the one which sends the signals to all its cell phones thus facilitating its servicing and functioning. Each of these towers is located on different streets. While the user travels, the signal base keeps shifting.

The cell phone jamming devices uses the same ‘radio frequencies’ or signals which is used by cell phones. When there is more than one signal source, the signals get hampered and prevent the use of cell phones in certain places. This type of method of cell phone jamming is known as ‘denial of service attack’.

There is also another method which is used for the same purpose. In this method, there are detectors placed in the buildings. When is person is using a cell phone the detector sends alarms to alert the concerned persons. It also helps them locate the user of the cell phone.
This technology of cell phone jamming is used in prisons and the military where high security is need. Therefore, it is of crucial importance.
